Watts Series 70AT Hot Water Extender Tempering Valve 3/4" (0215480) Review

The valve received was not the one ordered (and not the one shown above) The one above is a soldered version and I received the threaded version which I recall as being significantly less expensive. The soldered version would not have required any plumbing changes, but as I was having difficulty getting sufficient hot water for bathing, so I reluctantly made the changes and installed. Considering the price of the part, I would think that the right one could have been shipped. Seriously doubt that I would use this service again.

I bought this little condensate removal pump for use with a dehumidifier in the garage. Although not listed in the description, it contains 20 ft of 3/8" tubing. It works flawlessly and Amazon has the best price found anywhere.

Haier CPN12XC9 12K Portable Air Conditioner Review

Haier CPN12XC9 12K Portable Air Conditioner
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I purchased this in June when I couldn't take the NYC heat anymore. My window unit broke at the end of last summer, and due the prohibitively expensive delivery/installation costs in NYC for a 4th floor walkup apartment with extra wide windows, I decided to get a portable standing A/C-- my first.
I'm sure a lot of the issues I'm pointing out here have to do with the fact that portable units are just not as efficient as window units, but this 12,000 BTU unit does not cool my apartment nearly as quickly as my mighty little 8,000 BTU window unit used to. The nice thing about the portable unit which is an advantage over my old window unit is that while I have it installed in my bedroom, I can blast just my bedroom only (8 ft x 14 ft) by shutting the door, or angle it to cool the living room only (20 ft x 22 ft), or to hit both rooms. The bedroom gets cool enough when I shut the door so that the unit is cooling my bedroom only (and the temperature reading on the unit can get down to 73 degrees); it is a challenge to completely cool the living room area on a really hot day, but that was an issue even when I had my window unit (also installed in my bedroom). When I do try to cool just the living room (essentially dragging the unit to the doorway of the bedroom and blasting it only into the living room), while the living room can sometimes cool down to a comfortable temperature, the bedroom then heats up because the PVC exhaust pipe leading from the unit to the bedroom window gets quite hot.
It is also very noisy. The first week, I could hardly fall asleep because of the noise. It is like sleeping near a generator. I guess I've gotten used to it by now, but I definitely think that it could have been designed better to be quieter. Also, even on low speed, it's just as loud as when it's on high speed.
Beware that all portable units will require some kind of exhaust pipe to be connected to the window so that the heat generated by the unit can escape. You only need a small window, however, much smaller than an A/C would need, so if you have a basement apartment with a small window, you'd probably still be able to accommodate this unit.
If you have a living situation that allows a window unit to be installed more easily and inexpensively, I would certainly recommend that. For those who cannot install window units for whatever reason, this portable unit is OK, but I wonder if there are more efficient, quieter units out there. Also, I sometimes wonder if I made the right decision to keep the unit because portable A/C's cost more than window units, and maybe I should have just sucked up the outrageous installation charges associated with a window unit which may have been a more efficient cooling system.

I want to warn anyone who may be thinking about ordering anything from Air & Water, Inc. We ordered this NEW portable air conditioner from Air & Water, Inc. and when we finally received the item it was a USED air conditioner. The air intake panels were covered in a thick layer of dust which indicates it has had considerable use. There was also no documentation with this item...no owners manual, no warranty card, nothing. When we contacted this company, they refused to reimburse us for the $39.95 shipping charge we paid to have the item shipped to us, they also refused to cover the return shipping charge and they intend to charge us a 15% restocking fee which amounts to $59.85. This means we now have a choice of paying for a new air conditioner but keeping this used one which may or may not even work or pay $139.75 for absolutely nothing. In my opinion, this company is scamming people and should be prosecuted! BEWARE!

Heat pump technology means you get optimal heating while using less electrical power!

4-in-1 TechnologyThe NewAir AC-12000H works as four appliances in one - air conditioner, dehumidifier, heater and fan.

Built-in Heat PumpTraditional heaters max out at around 5,000 BTUs, but NewAir's exclusive heat pump technology achieves more BTUs while using less energy.

Auto-Evaporative TechnologyThe NewAir AC-12000H utilizes an auto-evaporative cooling system. Moisture is extracted from the air and used to cool the condenser coils for better cooling and less maintenance.

Eco-Friendly RefrigerantR-410A is more environmentally-friendly and causes no ozone damage.

No Permanent Installation RequiredThe AC-12000H does not require permanent installation. The easy-to-install window kit and an extendable exhaust hose (both included) set up in just minutes.

WindChaser PACRWC 12,000 BTU Remote Controlled Portable Air Conditioner Review

WindChaser PACRWC 12,000 BTU Remote Controlled Portable Air Conditioner

We purchased this unit last year to help cool down our study room. The room is about 13' by 13', and can get really hot during summer - especially when all three computers in it are turned on. We use the unit only for cooling purpose, and this is the second summer we will be using it. I would say the biggest disappointment with the unit is the painful condensation removal.
Pros:
1. It is built with multiple functions - cooling, heating, ionizing, and dehumidifying. The control panel is fancy with lots of LED lights for indicating the operating status.

2. It reduces humidity quickly in cooling or dehumidifying mode. We live in New Jersey where the humidity is what makes the heat unbearable sometimes. The unit reduces the humidity level much faster than other dehumidifiers I have. You start feeling comfortable when the humidity level reduces, even though the temperature may not drop as fast.

Cons:
1. The condensation removal is a pain in the neck. The unit is advertised to be able to evaporize the condensation through the exhaust pipes. Unfortunately, we live in the area where this capability is inefficient - if it's ever working. The condensation tank gets filled up quickly. The drain outlet is on the back, and is too close to the ground to allow easy water removal. It is even impossible to install a condensation pump with such a low drain outlet. I ended up putting four bricks under the unit and attaching a vinyl tube to allow water draining from front. Fortunately, the unit still runs smoothly even when it stands on those bricks - it does not vibrate or make extra noise. I probably will add a condensation pump later so the unit can run continuously without interruption when the tank is full.

2. The cooling power is not impressive. I would expect it to cool the room much faster with the 12,000 BTU rating. In our case, the room temperature barely drops 1 degree (F) after more than half an hour of operating. Fortunately, the reduced humidity level makes you feel better even though the temperature is still high.
